OCEAN ALLIANCE, the No. 1 alliance for transpacific trade

With OCEAN ALLIANCE, we are reinventing our industry in order to serve you even better: this ten-year alliance formed in 2017 is the biggest operating agreement ever signed in shipping. Together with three other leading names in the market, we offer 38 services on East-West axes with 333 vessels, 123 of which are provided by CMA CGM.

This means an even wider choice of destinations, more frequent departures and shorter transit times. Our customers have access to all the services of the No. 1 alliance for international trade. Coupled with our shipping and logistics expertise and our global network of intermodal infrastructures, this provides a powerful boost for their business performance.

High standards in terms of security for people and goods

Ensuring optimum security throughout the transportation process is critical. With this in mind, we use all legal, technical and human resources available to protect our shipping operations from security threats (piracy, stowaways, illegal trafficking, etc.). For example, we have a broad range of anti-piracy measures in place on board our vessels, in particular on the Indian Ocean and in Western Africa. These measures are constantly adapted to respond to the level of and changes in attacks. They allow our crews to maintain their rotations under optimum security conditions.

In our logistics activity, CEVA Logistics implements appropriate measures to limit the risk of goods theft: video surveillance, guarding, employee training, etc.

We also have a demanding security policy in order to prevent any accidents that may result in serious damage to our vessels and terminals, warehouses of our subsidiary company CEVA Logistics, or the environment. In our CEVA Logistics warehouses, the highest standards of health and safety are respected, particularly with regard to the handling and storage of dangerous goods. Our employees are trained in safety rules and contribute to the continuous improvement of their working environment. All our logistics sites are certified ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 (environment) and some ISO 45001:2018 (health and safety).

Lastly, we have a general safety policy in place that aims to protect our staff members against safety, health, natural and technological risks. For example, any staff member traveling to risky countries or regions must first register with the Group Safety Department and find out about the procedures in place. We also ask our suppliers to adopt the same “safety first” approach.
