Shipping plays a central role in the globalization of trade. This is an essential strategic priority for companies and local producers of all sizes, regardless of their business. As a key player, we respond to consumers’ needs with our modern fleet and expert crews, carrying goods all over the world.

 

A unique shipping network to serve our clients

At CMA CGM, we offer our clients the services of one of the world’s largest shipping networks covering short- and long-haul distances. Present in 420 ports with more than 257 shipping routes, we transport their cargos by container all over the world. To adapt to all demands, we have a fleet of over 500 ships featuring the latest technologies and with capacity of 3 million TEU.

To protect all our clients’ goods – perishable and fragile foodstuffs, bulk, outsized – we have developed our expertise with an advanced range of containers and additional services offering a high level of added value, drawing on digital solutions and taking account of environmental concerns.

And to further improve transit speed, with more destinations and greater frequency, we are members of Ocean Alliance, currently the world’s largest operational partnership between shipping companies.

Listening, digital tools and services

Our teams are on hand to listen to our clients’ needs and work with them to come up with the most effective shipping solutions. To meet their specific requirements, we have devised a comprehensive range of high value added services: ACT with CMA CGM+.

These services address three main priorities:

  • Securing and protecting goods using specific technologies such as Reefer, or connected solutions that ensure the traceability and security of cargos using the SMART containers system.
  • Developing and speeding up trade with credit and factoring services.
  • Reducing their environmental impact with our vessels powered by LNG, biofuel and biomethane.
     

We develop digital tools that simplify shipping procedures. For example, our clients can access all reservation and tracking services online, with reduced and streamlined administrative procedures. We take care of transporting your goods from A to Z, by road, rail, inland waterways, or a combination of the three. This allows for a simplified and optimized door-to-door service.

Aiming for more virtuous shipping services

For around 20 years, we have been working to reduce our impact on the planet. We also have modern vessels that consume less energy and incorporate the latest e-technologies. To power our new vessels, we have chosen to use liquefied natural gas, the best solution currently available to get rid of air pollutants and limit carbon emissions.  We have also taken action all over the world to encourage more fair trade, directing our clients and suppliers towards best practices.

Multimodal transportation

To get to their destination, our clients’ goods often need several modes of transport in addition to shipping. We take care of their goods from door to door, from their point of origin to their final destination. By combining shipping with rail, inland barges and trucks, we devise an integrated, agile and tailor-made solution for our clients.

Our strength lies in cutting edge multimodal platforms that receive your goods and redistribute them to their place of consumption by connecting at least two different modes of transport.

 

Freight management across the entire logistics chain

Our subsidiary CEVA Logistics is able to come up with bespoke solutions for contract logistics and freight management services.

Our shipping services include whole containers such as groupage, bulk and charter services covering more than 600 shipping lines. As regards air freight, we offer four service levels tailored to our clients’ needs, from loading onto regular air services to full plane chartering. For road transportation needs, we combine execution and management in order to offer optimum efficiency.

With more than 750 warehouses worldwide, CEVA Logistics is able to provide end-to-end supply chain management. Our optimized and reliable solutions draw on our technological expertise and our appetite for innovation. We design, execute and monitor our clients’ supply chain strategies to help them to keep their promises, with the aim of supporting them through all stages of their value chain. We strive for continuous improvement, and standardized procedures and design principles. We control project implementation while also assessing the classification of sites and means of transport.
