PREMA – Protection, Resilience, Education, Mediation, Art-Therapy

PREMA is an association based in Pradet in the Var. It supports children who are victims of trauma through creative and artistic expression. Founded and directed by artist, sculptor and psychotherapist Roseline Gravrand, the establishment helps children aged 6-14 years old and victims of serious mistreatment or severe emotional stress to rebuild themselves and socialize following placement by court judgement. PREMA welcomes these children full-time into two family homes, where they are able to find a new sense of personal balance in a calm environment.

The children all live in the houses together and their day-to-day life is the same as in any family home. They are cared for by a small, reassuring team who are constantly on hand. The care service provides support that’s adapted to the individual needs of each child to reinstate their personal dignity. The development of their capacity to adapt and express themselves, to learn the rules of life and to respect both themselves and others eventually allows them to reintegrate socially and professionally.

In 2014, The CMA CGM Foundation awarded its annual prize to the PREMA association, touched by their remarkable work, which contributes so much to the resilience of children damaged by life. In 2017, following its call for proposals, the Foundation supported PREMA once again - this time by helping to finance a 9-seater minivan to transport the ever-growing number of children they support.
