VIE

VIE

Our VIE (International Work Volunteering) program enables graduates to go abroad to work in our local branches. It's an invaluable experience that broadens their knowledge, allows them to acquire new skills and helps standardize best practices and procedures within the Group. At the end of their contract, the Group offers career development opportunities and the chance to undertake missions of real responsibility to support our growth.

Jérémy's testimony about his VIE in Ecuador:
“After more than a year spent in the Latin America lines at CMA CGM in Marseille, I decided to sail to new horizons by going abroad with the Group in VIE.

I flew in 2016 to Ecuador, a country located on the west coast of South America, for two years in the Guayaquil agency.

The objective was for me to acquire a solid professional experience abroad, to discover the functioning of a shipping agency, the operational problems on the ground and to be at the heart of the road transport company.

After a few weeks of integration and adaptation to cultural changes, my mission could finally begin. I was embarking on the biggest project that had been entrusted to me so far: to launch and develop a land transport company for the CMA CGM Group in Ecuador.

In constant contact with the entire logistics chain, I spent most of my days out of the office visiting potential customers, maintaining good relationships with our existing customer portfolio, negotiating terms of service with our local carriers and in the local depots. city or even analyze and meet the needs of the market in generators for refrigerated containers, main volume in Ecuador.

Thanks to this unique experience, I have been able to develop my knowledge in logistics, understand the roles and problems of each actor in the transport chain and gain experience of team management in a foreign country.

The responsibilities that I was given, to be able to start a business and develop it autonomously, I certainly would not have had them so quickly while staying in France.

Today, returning to the head office in Marseille and with a little hindsight, I can clearly say that International Volunteering in Business is an incredible springboard and is clearly the experience of a life that will enrich you both professionally and personally."
