Employees commitment

The CMA CGM Foundation gives the Group’s employees the chance to take part in community initiatives alongside charitable organizations active in a variety of different areas.

Skills-based volunteering

“Over the past 45 years, CMA CGM has lived by crystal-clear people-friendly, family-oriented and entrepreneurial values and has become a leading player in the shipping industry. We are now building up our social footprint even further by enabling humanitarian organizations to reap the benefit of our employees’ unique expertise. Through skills-based volunteering, CMA CGM is again demonstrating its responsible commitment to people-focused causes already supported by the CMA CGM Foundation.”  Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation

The CMA CGM Group launched its skills-based volunteering program in 2018. In their working time, employees are able to make their skills available to non-profits, in areas including legal and administrative assistance, HR advice, participation in educational initiatives.

Skills sponsorship, at the heart of the support provided by the social incubator Le Phare

Le Phare is the CMA CGM Foundation's social incubator, supporting innovative solutions for the education and training of young people in Marseille, Guadeloupe, and Abidjan, every year. Most of this support is provided by committed CMA CGM Group employees who give their time to share their skills and experience with the entrepreneurs.

Project management, legal issues, communication, marketing or human resources... the commitment of the teams to these varied themes enables associations and startups with an impact to develop actions and tools with a social and educational vocation.

Employees committed to food aid

The CMA CGM Foundation is committed to ensuring that the most disadvantaged populations have access to a healthy and varied diet by supporting the leading food aid associations in France: Restos du Cœur and the French Federation of Food Banks.

CMA CGM employees work alongside the volunteers of these two associations during the major annual collection campaigns. They also participate in the sorting of products, the preparation of packages and the distribution of meals. This mobilisation is carried out within the framework of the Group's skills sponsorship programme, which allows employees in France to commit 5 days per year during their working hours to support associations.

A constant commitment by employees to the Foundation

CMA CGM employees also contribute their energy and motivation to te hFoundation's operations. These include, for example

  • The humanitarian operation "Un bateau pour le Liban": CMA CGM employees took an active part in organizing and coordinating the delivery of emergency humanitarian supplies to Lebanon.
  • Numerous end-of-year solidarity actions: these involved Group employees in France, Lebanon and around the world in the preparation and distribution of food aid, toy collections, distribution of donations, etc.
