The CMA CGM Foundation undertakes to help young people in Marseille not in education, employment or training

The CMA CGM Foundation and OM Fondation have pledged to help around 30 18- to 25-year-olds not in education, employment or training to find jobs or training - NEET under the #MouvTaVie project.

An innovative support program for young people delivered via the Marseille Mission Locale and the Marseille École de la 2ème Chance that provides a combination of training, sports activities and an induction to the business world lies at the heart of this project.

Volunteer staff members participating in the CMA CGM Foundation’s skills-based sponsorship program provided support and guidance, helping them to overcome the hurdles preventing them from securing long-term employment.

The project aims to make it easier for the young people to find their way in society and the workplace and to provide a joined-up approach between the various local partners—authorities and non-profits—specialized in training and broadening access to employment.

Substantial backing for the educational activities of the Aix-en-Provence Lyrical Arts Festival

Since 2008, the CMA CGM Foundation has supported the educational program of the Aix-en-Provence Lyrical Arts Festival, an event dedicated to opera and classical music held since 1948.

As part of a partnership with the French ministry of education and the Aix-Marseille Academy, the festival runs a diverse range of innovative artistic and cultural programs, which have been enhanced and scaled up over the years.

As a result, initiatives for school students have been launched informing them about music and the arts, showcasing potential jobs in opera and providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Festival and the chance to see a number of the Festival’s performances.

These measures are tailored to each of the relevant targets: teachers in all branches and disciplines, students at all levels, schools in both urban and rural areas, schools operating under the Priority Education program and higher-education institutions.

Most of the initiatives operate in the area covered by the Aix-Marseille Academy and its neighbors, entrenching the Festival’s roots in its local community.
