Cultural Projects

Each year, the CMA CGM Foundation renews its support for internationally renowned festivals:
Partner of the educational program of the lyrical art festival in Aix-en-Provence since 2008
Since 2008, the CMA CGM Foundation has supported the festival’s educational program, raising awareness in schools, presenting the jobs involved in opera and offering young people access to the shows at the festival.
The Aix-en-Provence festival has been celebrating opera and classical music since 1948. Since 2007, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education and the Academy of Aix-Marseille, the festival has been offering innovative and varied artistic and cultural action programs that have been enriched and strengthened over the years. Most of the educational service's activities take place in the academic area of Aix-Marseille and neighboring academic areas, reinforcing the festival's territorial roots.
The actions are adapted to each different audience: teachers in all sectors and disciplines, students of all levels, schools in urban and rural areas or Priority Education Networks (REP/REP+), and higher education.
Through its actions, the Festival educational service aims to open up access to opera productions for children and young people from all social backgrounds, promote young people's musical and artistic practice in contact with professional artists, conduct pilot experiments in creativity and artistic education, and encourage general educational institutions to become more open to the arts and culture.
Partner of the Al Bustan Festival (Lebanon) since 2016
Since 1994, the Al Bustan Festival has focused on classical music and is held at the Al Bustan Hotel in Beyt Meri, 20 minutes from Beirut. On the program: chamber music, opera, orchestras, choirs, but also theatrical performances, dance and puppet shows. The festival welcomes internationally renowned musicians and orchestras.

Partner of the International Festival of Baalbeck (Lebanon) since 2006
The Baalbeck International Festival is one of the oldest and most important in the Middle East. It has become a major cultural event involving protagonists from all over the world. The festival harmoniously combines opera, musicals, pop music, traditional dance and world music. Hundreds of artists, dancers, actors and musicians travel to Baalbek, an antique city 90 km east of Beirut, to celebrate the living arts and music.
Cultural activities take place in the Acropolis, in the ruins of the ancient city, including the temples of Jupiter and Bacchus.
Officially born in 1956, it was inaugurated by Jean Cocteau. After an interruption of more than 20 years due to the civil war (1975-1996), the festival has been regaining strength and vigor since 1997 thanks to the quality of its programming.

Partner of the International Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron (France) since 2008
Created in 1980, this Piano Festival takes place in a magnificent natural setting located in the Aix-en-Provence area, close to the Luberon: the Parc du Château de Florans in La Roque d'Anthéron.
Every summer, the greatest performers on the international piano scene perform outdoors, in the shelter of a conch with remarkable acoustics. This conch has become a real emblem for the Festival's over the years. The Festival is present on more than a dozen stages spread over 6 cities in the Bouches-du-Rhône area and 3 in the Vaucluse area. The Festival aims to promote the piano in all its forms through recitals, concertos and chamber music and in a wide variety of musical genres, ranging from jazz to baroque, classical to contemporary.
