COVID-19 : The CMA CGM Foundation is committed

The CMA CGM Group has created an exceptional solidarity response fund to support initiatives to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and help the most vulnerable communities impacted by the health crisis.
Actions in Marseille and Lebanon help vulnerable communities impacted by the health crisis
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous impact on the most vulnerable communities. With the lockdown, these communities no longer have access to healthcare, basic necessities and education.
Combatting school failure among youth alongside Emmaus Connect
Funding from the CMA CGM Foundation will provide computer equipment and internet connections to 450 low-income students from Marseille so that they can continue their studies and avoid dropping out of school during the lockdown.
Helping the most vulnerable communities protect themselves against the Covid-19 pandemic by teaming up with Action Against Hunger (ACF) and UNICEF
Hygiene kits will be distributed to 5,000 homeless individuals in camps, squats and slums. Food suitable for young children and babies will also be distributed. Information on social distancing will be provided using support mediums developed in several languages.
Distribution of basic necessities via the Food Bank in Marseille
Thanks to joint funding from the CMA CGM Foundation and the OM Foundation, the Food Bank will distribute 6 tonnes of foodstuffs to 12,000 beneficiaries. Low-income families will be given access to a healthy, safe and diversified diet.
Providing food assistance in Lebanon, through 23 local organisations
The CMA CGM Foundation, which has been active in Lebanon from the beginning, will provide funding for 23 local organisations to distribute emergency food assistance. More than 50,000 families located throughout the country will benefit from this aid.

Responding to the health crisis in France and abroad
Since the beginning of the health crisis, the CMA CGM Foundation has mobilised the CMA CGM Group’s logistical expertise and international networks to actively combat the Covid-19 pandemic by shipping medical equipment and providing it to those that need it most.
In Marseille and in the rest of France:
- Distribution of 200,000 FFP2-type face masks (N-95 equivalent) to the Regional Healthcare Agencies of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) and Ile-de-France regions.
- Donation of 50,000 pairs of gloves and 30,000 medical gowns to the Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Marseille (APHM) and the IHU directed by Professor Didier Raoult.
- APHM was provided with a serology testing unit to facilitate testing and the reopening process.
Internationally:
- Lebanon: donation of 50,000 FFP2-type face masks to the Rafic Hariri State Hospital, the Hôtel Dieu hospital in France, the Lebanese Red Cross, and the Lebanese Army for redistribution to the other Lebanese hospitals.
- Morocco: the Foundation contributed MAD 1.6 million to the special fund created by His Majesty, Mohammed VI, King of Morocco. Two containers transformed into local emergency care units were also shipped to Moroccan hospitals.
- Algeria: donation of 200,000 PPE surgical masks to the Algerian Red Crescent which will redistribute them according to the healthcare needs in association with the Ministry of Health.
- Africa: donation of several hundreds of thousands of face masks to support healthcare organisations in the Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Mauritania, Senegal and Cameroon.
