Visits of the Minister for Gender Equality and the Fight against Discrimination, Aurore Bergé, and Moussa Camara, President of Les Déterminés, to the CMA CGM Foundation's Solidarity Warehouse

On Thursday, May 22, Moussa Camara, President of Les Déterminés, visited the Solidarity Warehouse of the CMA CGM Foundation in Marseille. This visit was an opportunity to reflect together on how young people can be involved in this unique solidarity initiative in France. A few hours later, Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation, Alain Evezard, President of the departmental branch of Restos du Cœur in Bouches-du-Rhône, and Stéphane Lemonnier, President of the local unit of the French Red Cross in Marseille, presented the tangible impact of this social innovation to the Minister for Gender Equality and the Fight against Discrimination, Aurore Bergé.
A major social innovation led by the CMA CGM Foundation
Inaugurated on December 6, 2024, by Mrs. Brigitte Macron, the Solidarity Warehouse is a pioneering social initiative in France. Supported by the CMA CGM Foundation, it offers over 5,000m² of storage space, including a refrigerated section, to 5 major French food aid organizations.
With a capacity to store up to 3,200 tonnes of food, the warehouse currently supplies 330 distribution points in Marseille and the Bouches-du-Rhône region, enabling the delivery of 10 million meals per year.
This large-scale solidarity project, led by the CMA CGM Foundation, is supported in Marseille by the French State, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, and the City of Marseille.
The CMA CGM Foundation is actively exploring opportunities to replicate the Solidarity Warehouse model in other parts of the world, particularly in Mayotte and Lebanon.
