4 scholarships for deserving students from modest backgrounds
The CMA CGM Foundation has decided to support ARSTM's "Excellence-Equity" program by providing 4 students with scholarships for 3 years of study (2023 to 2025) at the Academy, in the fields of Nautical Sciences and Marine Mechanics.
ARSTM, Académie régionale des sciences et techniques de la Mer, is a regional maritime, port, and industrial training institution opened in 1987 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. With the aim of promoting access to education for all, it has launched the "Excellence-Equity" project, a program designed to offer scholarships to deserving high school graduates from modest families.
A strong commitment to education and professional integration in Côte d'Ivoire
The CMA CGM Foundation promotes education for all and professional integration throughout the world. In Côte d'Ivoire, this commitment is reflected in the construction of high-quality educational infrastructure. 2 primary schools have been built thanks to the support of the CMA CGM Foundation, in partnership with the Magic System Foundation, and now accommodate 500 students from kindergarten to CM2.
A strategic partnership between the CMA CGM Group and ARSTM for the training of nautical professionals
Since 2022, the CMA CGM Group, a global player in maritime, land, air, and logistics solutions, has also mobilized its expertise to support ARSTM by training its instructors and enabling the construction of a classroom for the Academy. Thanks to this partnership, 4 young Ivorian students from ARSTM have also been able to train on board CMA CGM vessels for 6 months, giving them an operational insight into the shipping industry.
