The CMA CGM Foundation reiterates its humanitarian commitment with an extensive solidarity program throughout Lebanon

Following a collaboration between the CMA CGM Foundation and Cuisine de Mariam in December 2022, a project was launched to build a new infrastructure to increase the daily production capacity of hot meals from 1,000 to 3,000, with the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

The Cuisine de Mariam was launched on December 28, 2023 by the president of the CMA CGM Foundation, Mrs Tanya Saadé Zeenny, and the founder of the kitchen, Father Hani Tawk. It marks a joint commitment with the Ile-de-France and South Regions as well as the  Œuvre d'Orient, Mont Liban d'Azur and the Rotary Club Marseille.

Over the last six months, the CMA CGM Foundation has supported the construction of this new kitchen by mobilizing the expertise of the CMA CGM Group in Lebanon, which is essential for the site management, and by committing to finance most of the project. Aware of the logistical challenges, the CMA CGM Foundation also contributes to the functioning of the kitchen by providing storage space per container for necessities. The CMA CGM Foundation is continuing its commitment by supporting the specific preparation of 100,000 hot meals at Cuisine de Mariam.

The Foundation is also running a solidarity program across all Lebanon: 9,000 food parcels and 9,000 blankets will be distributed to the most vulnerable Lebanese families with partner NGOs. With the mobilization of CMA CGM collaborators in Lebanon, the distributions will take place in partnership with local associations including Akkar Network for Development, Caritas, Development for People and Nature Association, Imam Sadr Foundation, Nusaned and Sanabel Nour.

These actions confirm the solid commitment and readiness of our Foundation to implement solidarity programs throughout the country, helping those in need to celebrate the holidays in dignity”, said Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation on the launch of the operations of the new Cuisine de Mariam.
