Le Phare welcomes its new entrepreneurs

Reading time: 2 min

Our seven new projects have settled to Le Phare on 9th September. The entrepreneurs are all looking to break down barriers through educational and humanitarian projects. The solutions developed through these projects, including digital approaches, aim to tackle issues such as students dropping out of education and employment for the most vulnerable.

  • A L'Unisson pour le futur: non-profit established in 2021 to engage young people living in Marseille in civil society initiatives early on in their lives. It was set up by 15- to 22-year-olds and established the first young people’s council in Marseille to propose solutions helping their peers, while introducing participants to the inner workings of civil society.
  • Live Love: non-profit established in Lebanon and planning to establish a new branch in Marseille with the aim of fostering engagement with civil society among young people so they can develop positive initiatives addressing social needs. It is also involved in helping the young participants to find work, including through a platform giving them access to training so they can acquire new skills.
  • Mayoo: a web application for schools that aims to involve students in managing their school canteen, designing menus and returning their trays once they’ve finished their meals, in response to young people’s changing food habits. It measures the amount of food wasted in canteens every day to raise awareness of the importance of healthier eating and to combat waste.
  • Meet My Mama: a delicatessen committed to doing good and a training school that aspires to giving mothers around the world a chance to pursue their passion for cooking under a program that helps them find employment in the restaurant and catering sector. After achieving great results in Paris, Meet My Mama is now expanding to Marseille.
  • Nanaba:  an organization that endeavors for educational purposes to ensure children’s screen time is of a high quality through a parental control system that includes review times for their favorite apps. Nanaba aims to restore some balance to family life and promote educational achievement, while controlling access to certain types of multimedia content.
  • Phoenix Education: created MeetYourSchool, the first virtual event platform dedicated to educational and professional guidance and orientation. It’s a digital solution that broadens access to high-quality information for all young people, irrespective of their background. It helps them make the right decisions for their future, for example by giving them access to digital student fairs.
  • Solidarités International: an NGO active internationally that aims to meet the essential needs of communities experiencing severe difficulties, especially in relation to water and sanitation. It also runs initiatives in France, including in Marseille, to enhance the living conditions of families in improvised housing who are experiencing the greatest hardship.

They also came to meet the Group “mentors” involved in their project as part of the skills sponsorship program. For nine months, they will benefit from free and tailor-made support from experts in their fields. A program to accelerate their impact on the youth of Marseille and elsewhere.
