Launch of the “Morocco Reefer Tour”: CMA CGM goes out to meet Moroccan citrus and vegetable producers to present them its expertise as a world leader
- A CMA CGM traveling container will stop in seven Moroccan cities: Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Beni Mellal, Berkane, Larache, and Tangier
- CMA CGM, 2nd global transporter of refrigerated containers
- CMA CGM, a historic partner of Morocco
The CMA CGM Group, a worldwide leading shipping group, is pleased to announce the inauguration today in Casablanca of its traveling container, the “Morocco Reefer Tour”, in the presence of representatives from the Moroccan Autonomous Establishment for the Control and Coordination of Exports (EACCE), exporters’ associations, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco (CFCIM), and the French Embassy in Morocco.
An unprecedented tour to meet with the Kingdom’s citrus and vegetable producers
Through December, seven Moroccan cities will host this traveling container which will be specially transformed and decorated for this occasion: Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Beni Mellal, Berkane, Larache, and Tangier. These cities were chosen as they belong to the main citrus and vegetable producing regions, where the export season is underway. During these stopovers, exporters will be able to study how a CMA CGM refrigerated container (“Reefer”) operates and to develop best practices which will allow them to optimize the transport of their products.
This unprecedented tour will allow CMA CGM, which is the second global Reefer transporter, to promote its expertise in terms of refrigerated container transportation as well as the technologies embarked upon Reefers. The Group will also provide advice on how best to fill a container.
3 dedicated maritime services for the export of Moroccan fruits and vegetables
In order to support the Moroccan citrus and vegetables export season, the CMA CGM Group has additionally decided to reinforce this year its seasonal offering from Morocco. This is achieved by optimizing the AGAX, CISS, and DUNKRUS lines, which connect directly and on a weekly basis Morocco to Northern Europe and to Russia. CMA CGM thus reaffirms its commitment to the economic development of Morocco and to the promotion of the country’s agricultural exports.
CMA CGM, a historic partner of Morocco
CMA CGM is the leader on maritime transport in Morocco, a country where it is present since 1983. It represents a strategic country for the Group’s development and for its ambition, in part because of its position at a crossroads between Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean region. The Group employs 1,600 collaborators in Morocco and operates in three ports (Agadir, Casablanca, Tanger Med), with 26 maritime services that allow it to reach the entire world, including 80 ports directly from Morocco.
