On International Women’s Day, the CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics, confirms its commitment to equality between women and men, a major focus and an essential value in its development.
The CMA CGM Group is committed to recruiting, training and promoting talent
The CMA CGM Group acts from the recruitment stage in favor of professional equality. To this end, a training campaign on recruitment techniques that meet the requirements of professional equality and diversity is currently being rolled out, including among the teams at the Group’s head office in Marseilles, who oversee all recruitment operations worldwide.
To support women in their professional development within the Group and in their management functions, Tanya Saadé Zeenny, Executive Officer of the CMA CGM Group, has launched “We Are Shipping”, a dedicated program that is unique in the industry. Dedicated to the development of women’s leadership through actions such collective coaching sessions, testimonial meetings and specific training workshops, this program has already helped 101 female employees in 7 graduating classes in France, Lebanon and Singapore. Two more graduating classes will be launched in the coming weeks, in France and, for the first time, in the UK.
CMA CGM is working towards a better work-life balance
In order to promote a better balance between professional and private life, which is crucial to achieve equality between men and women, the CMA CGM Group has decided to launch several ambitious initiatives, in particular:
- 100% coverage of paternity leave for sedentary and seafaring personnel;
- Adjusting the work schedule for pregnant women;
- Or the implementation of individualized schedules for all employees, allowing them to adjust their arrival and departure times.
Committed to helping employees return from maternity leave under the best possible conditions, the Group has also decided to provide specific financial support through the payment of an “early childhood” allowance to the Social and Economic Committees and the provision of cradles to accommodate employees’ children in a private crèche near the head office.
