In 2020, the Group introduced several measures to support existing initiatives and to underpin workplace equality and gender balance within its teams:

  • it entered into a new collective bargaining agreement based on four pillars—recruitment, equal pay, internal promotion, and work-life balance
  • the CMA CGM Academy launched the “C-Box Diversity” which can be used to identify potential discrimination and to plan campaigns within teams to champion diversity and inclusion
  • it made cribs available for employees’ children at the two intercompany daycare centers close to the Group’s head office in Marseille
  • it established a remote work agreeement an agreement covering homeworking (outside of Covid-19 lockdowns)

In addition, the Group has scaled up its “We Are Shipping” program. It was launched in 2018 with the aim of promoting women’s leadership within the Group both in France and worldwide and of achieving a greater gender balance in key positions through coaching sessions, coffee break discussions, co-development workshops and networking sessions. Since 2018, the program has supported the professional advancement of 113 women in eight groups across France, Lebanon, Asia and the United Kingdom.
