On the occasion of the official presentation of the new Decathlon CMA CGM team on Thursday, December 11, the CMA CGM Group takes a significant step into the world of professional cycling. A first in its history, alongside the leading French team in the 2025 UCI World Tour team ranking.

A popular and demanding sport that resonates with the values of the CMA CGM Group

Cycling is one of the most practiced and followed sports in the world. Popular, accessible and deeply rooted in local communities, it gathers millions of enthusiasts every year. Demanding and collective, it relies on preparation, precision, endurance and the ability to perform together.

These are values shared by CMA CGM, whose purpose "We imagine better ways to serve a world in motion" closely echoes the world of cycling.

Performance and mobility: a natural link between cycling and CMA CGM’s activities

CMA CGM’s commitment to the world of cycling comes as a natural step. The bicycle, a simple, efficient and sustainable mode of transport, mirrors CMA CGM’s net-zero trajectory, supported by investments across all its activities (shipping, logistics and media) to reduce its environmental footprint and offer increasingly responsible solutions.

A sport of precision, cycling celebrates discipline, trajectory control and the search for the most efficient path. These principles also guide the optimization of the Group’s maritime, rail, road and air routes. The dynamics of the peloton (cooperation, shared effort, synchronization) reflect the daily coordination of CMA CGM teams managing increasingly complex supply chains.

Together with Decathlon, a major player in French and international sport, CMA CGM associates its name with another expert in performance and innovation.

The CMA CGM Group brings its expertise to cycling logistics

A subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, CEVA Logistics will deploy its expertise to support the team, managing logistics for training camps and international competitions around the world, from Australia to Europe and the Americas.

An ambitious first chapter for a French team focused on top-level performance

In 2026, the Decathlon CMA CGM team will begin the season with renewed ambition, supported by its title partners Decathlon and CMA CGM, by main partner Van Rysel, and by the arrival of a new official partner, Adecco.

After a 2025 season marked by 26 victories and a 7th-place ranking in the UCI standings, the team has set a clear trajectory: excelling in the world’s greatest races and entering the global top 5.

This ambition is built on a structured sporting project, a strong development pathway and a team determined to push its limits.

From football to sailing: CMA CGM advances its sporting journey through cycling

CMA CGM’s engagement in the new Decathlon CMA CGM team continues a long-standing and diversified presence in the world of sports sponsorship.

For several years, the Group has supported some of the world’s most iconic events and teams. In Marseille, where its headquarters are located, CMA CGM is the main partner of Olympique de Marseille, an illustration of its commitment to supporting major sporting passions in its home region. The Group was also the official logistics provider of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, technical partner of the Torch Relay, long-time supporter of the Tour Cycliste International de Guadeloupe, of the Transat Café l'Or over three editions, and team partner of Scuderia Ferrari in Formula 1 through CEVA Logistics.

CMA CGM is also involved in popular Marseille-based events such as the Défi Monte Cristo, Marseille-Cassis or La Marseillaise des Femmes, engaging its employees each year in unifying sporting initiatives.

This diversity of partnerships reflects a strong conviction: sport is a driver of engagement, performance and cohesion, values at the heart of the Group’s identity. The entry of CMA CGM into professional cycling extends a clear strategy: supporting projects that unite, inspire and elevate French ambition on the international stage.
