To respond to the impending emergency and support Lebanese families who are no longer able to meet the nutritional needs of small children, the CMA CGM Foundation has bought more than 4,000 cartons of powdered formula from French company Danone as well as 10,000 baby food products, which have just arrived on board a CMA CGM Group vessel destined for nine Lebanese NGOs.

These essential items will be distributed directly to the charities with the assistance of the CMA CGM Group’s logistics subsidiary CEVA Logistics. More than 1,000 children will benefit from the CMA CGM Foundation’s scheme to respond to the needs of newborns and children aged under three via nine Lebanese NGOs:
- Offrejoie
- Lebanese Food Bank
- Fondation Al-Tawarek
- Achrafieh 2020
- Hôpital gouvernemental de la Quarantaine
- Amel Association International

- Tantet men Lebnen
- Afnan Social Association
A major commitment to help NGOs and hospitals in Lebanon
The Group is continuing to support Lebanon through the CMA CGM Foundation by reiterating its humanitarian support for the Lebanese people. Since September 2020, more than 80 containers of humanitarian aid have been delivered to Beirut for free as part of its “Containers of Hope” scheme to help more than 20 Lebanese NGOs.
Tanya Saadé Zeenny, Chair of the CMA CGM Foundation, comments: “With the Baby Formula Operation, we are responding to the emergency needs that have arisen during this unsustainable humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. This support operation launched with the support of the French embassy in Beirut aims to respond to the pressing needs of the country as swiftly as possible.”
