Bouches-du-Rhône Food Bank: The CMA CGM Foundation Renews Its Support and Mobilizes 50 Group Volunteers

- From June 27 to 29, 2025, the CMA CGM Foundation will once again support the Bouches-du-Rhône Food Bank by mobilizing 50 CMA CGM Group volunteers to assist with the regional food drive.
- Since 2022, the CMA CGM Foundation has been a committed partner of the French Food Banks Federation, providing essential logistical, financial, and human support across mainland France and the overseas territories.
- This partnership has already enabled the distribution of 2 million meals, the ground transport of nearly 4,000 tonnes of food, and the maritime transport of over 1,600 tonnes to the overseas territories.
- Nearly 300 CMA CGM Group staff volunteers have taken part in food drives since the beginning of the partnership.
From June 27 to 29, 2025, as part of the larger food drive taking place in the Bouches-du-Rhône, the CMA CGM Foundation is strengthening its support by mobilizing around 50 staff volunteers to assist Food Bank teams in supermarkets across Marseille and the surrounding area.
Staff engagement is a cornerstone of this partnership, with nearly 300 Group employees participating in food drives since the beginning of the collaboration. The Foundation promotes this involvement each year through its skills-based sponsorship program.
A renewed commitment to the Bouches-du-Rhône Food Bank
In response to ongoing challenges, the CMA CGM Foundation is strengthening its support through:
- Donation of food parcels and essential goods.
- Deployment of trucks and CEVA Logistics drivers to support collections during the upcoming National Food Drive.
- Active participation of 50 staff volunteers in the June food drive.
This effort is part of a larger mobilization, which also included staff participation in food collection operations in Martinique and Guadeloupe earlier in June.
A strong and lasting partnership with the French Food Bank Federation since 2022
Since 2022, the CMA CGM Foundation has played a key role supporting the Food Banks Federation by:
- Enabling the distribution of 2 million meals to vulnerable communities.
- Covering the free transport of nearly 4,000 tonnes of food across mainland France via the Group’s subsidiary, CEVA Logistics.
- Providing maritime transport of over 1,600 tonnes of food to Guadeloupe, Martinique, and La Réunion Island through the Containers of Hope program.
- Engaging nearly 300 staff volunteers in food drives across Marseille, Le Havre, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and La Réunion Island.
A concrete response to food emergency
In France, nearly 7 million people suffer from food insecurity. To address this urgent need, Food Banks play a vital role, collecting more than 120,000 tonnes of food each year and redistributing it to 2.4 million people through a network of 6,000 partner associations.
The CMA CGM Foundation actively supports this essential work by providing year-round logistical, human, and financial resources, both in mainland France and in the overseas territories, helping to ensure that food reaches those who need it most.
