The CMA CGM Foundation renews and strengthens its commitment in India alongside Child Rights & You and Salaam Baalak Trust

Since 2023, the CMA CGM Foundation has been supporting in India the NGOs Child Rights & You (CRY) and Salaam Baalak Trust to promote access to quality education for children and young people from underprivileged neighborhoods in Mumbai.
Together, the Foundation and its partners have already renovated and developed 10 educational centers. In February 2026, the CMA CGM Foundation announces the renewal and strengthening of these partnerships, ensuring the continuity of activities carried out within these centers and the long-term support of the children they serve.
In India, millions of children grow up in slums, often deprived of adequate access to education, nutrition, and healthcare. In response to these challenges, the CMA CGM Foundation partnered with CRY to develop five educational centers in the Chembur slum, in the heart of Mumbai. These centers provide academic support, sports activities, and extracurricular programs that foster personal development and academic success.
In 2024, to further amplify its impact, the CMA CGM Foundation expanded its action by partnering with Salaam Baalak Trust to open five additional centers in the underprivileged neighborhoods of Dahisar, Malad Malwani, Bhandup, and Vikhroli.
Today, these 10 centers provide more than 2,800 street-connected children each year with educational, sports, nutritional, and psychological support, making a tangible contribution to their protection, development, and future.
