Today, the CMA CGM Foundation announced the launch of its sixth consecutive “Giving Across North America” initiative, in partnership with The Salvation Army. On November 19, Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation, met with Colonel James Betts, National Chief Secretary of Salvation Army, Meghan Foley, National Emergency Disaster Services Director, and Jaime Joswick, National Director of Corporate Relations, to formally renew their partnership that supports vulnerable individuals and families in five cities across the United States. This year’s edition, supported by 200 staff members from the CMA CGM Group, will enable the distribution of more than 500,000 meals—fresh produce, pantry staples, and hot meals—to households facing food insecurity.
The campaign launched in early November with special Thanksgiving distributions at Salvation Army centers in Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Norfolk. These events provided fresh fruits and vegetables, food baskets, and turkeys for individuals, families, and senior citizens in need. Thanks to the commitment of CMA CGM, American President Lines, Fenix Marine Services, and CEVA Logistics staff members approximately 5,000 individuals have been able to celebrate the holiday season with dignity, enjoying nutritious meals within their communities and in the comfort of their homes.
Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation, stated, "CMA CGM is not just a business. Through our Foundation, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate across the United States. This marks the sixth year of our partnership with The Salvation Army, helping provide essential assistance to thousands of families, especially during the holiday season.”
“We are grateful for the CMA CGM Foundation’s ongoing partnership," said The Salvation Army National Commander Commissioner Merle Heatwole. "Together, we are addressing the pressing challenge of food insecurity while bringing hope and nutritious meals to hundreds of thousands of families in communities across the country.”
Yearlong Campaign to Address Food Insecurity:
Now in its sixth year, the “Giving Across North America” initiative has evolved into a comprehensive campaign running from November 2025 through August 2026. It includes monthly nutritional support programs, weekly food distributions, and special holiday events to ensure families have regular access to essential resources throughout the year.
This year, the partnership has been enhanced with additional logistics support. The Foundation will provide The Salvation Army with logistics services free of charge, leveraging the Group’s global shipping and supply chain expertise. A dedicated task force will coordinate all CMA CGM Group entities, including CEVA Logistics, Fenix Marine Services, American President Lines, and CMA CGM shipping, to respond swiftly to The Salvation Army’s needs. Together, the two organizations will strengthen relief operations and food aid initiatives across the U.S., ensuring that essential goods reach communities in need efficiently and on time.
