On May 2, the CMA CGM Foundation and the Magic System Foundation inaugurated a new school in Zougban, a village in the Bouaké region of central Côte d'Ivoire.
The keys were handed over to the Ivorian Ministry of Education and Literacy, which will manage the school.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Salif Traoré (A'Salfo), President of the Magic System Foundation, Mr. Xavier Collignon, Managing Director of CMA CGM Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Ekonan Aloueké Antoine, Sub-Prefect of Brobo, Mr. Louis Kouakou Habonouan, Mayor of Brobo, and Mr. M'bassidje Augoud Roger, Regional Director of National Education and Literacy of Bouaké.
As part of this partnership, another primary school wasopened in January 2023 in the village of Ellokro, near Port Bouët. Every day, this school accommodates 200 students from 1st to 5th grade in 6 classrooms.
Quality educational infrastructure to improve access to education for all children
The new school will accommodate 300 students from kindergarten to CM2. It will provide Bouaké with quality educational infrastructure in a community that previously had none, to promote the success of the children who will attend.
Part of the building was constructed using 4 containers that were rebuilt using a circular economy approach to give them a second life after their use in shipping. They now house a library and a teachers' room. The school will also benefit from a sports field and a canteen.
The project also involved Ivorian street artist Alberic Kouassi, who painted frescoes on the school's walls.

The event was also an opportunity for the CMA CGM Foundation and the Magic System Foundation to announce the upcoming construction of a third school in San Pédro, a port city in southwestern Côte d'Ivoire.
