Ensuring the circulation of Lebanese Red Cross ambulances
The CMA CGM Foundation will provide fuel for Lebanese Red Cross ambulances until the end of 2024. Over 150,000 patients across Lebanon benefit annually from this free emergency transport and pre-hospital care service, which is provided in a neutral and impartial manner, in accordance with the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The Lebanese Red Cross joins the CMA CGM Foundation’s “Containers of Hope” program
The CMA CGM Foundation will transport containers of humanitarian aid free of charge for the Lebanese Red Cross, by mobilizing the expertise and industrial capacity of the entire CMA CGM Group. Through its “Containers of Hope” program, the Foundation has already shipped 38,000 tons of food, medical equipment, medicines, and sanitary and hygiene productsto 82 countries for its humanitarian partners, including the ICRC and the French Red Cross.
Logistics training to optimize operations
As part of a skills sponsorship program, CMA CGM Group experts will implement a customized cycle of logistics training for Lebanese Red Cross team members. This program will directly contribute to the Red Cross’ capacity development and strengthening plan.
As part of this partnership, CMA CGM Group staff members will also participate in the national blood donation campaign organized by the Lebanese Red Cross to mark World Blood Donor Day on June 14th.
Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation, said: “Access to health care is a fundamental need. By strengthening its partnership with the Lebanese Red Cross, the CMA CGM Foundation aims to provide meaningful and concrete support to Lebanese families across the country.”
Dr. Antoine Zoghbi, President of the Lebanese Red Cross, stated: “In a country that more than ever needs the cooperation of all its components to meet the vital needs of the population and to preserve the dignity of the most vulnerable, the partnership between the Lebanese Red Cross and the CMA CGM Foundation is a beautiful example of generosity and collaboration between the humanitarian sector and the private sector. We thank the CMA CGM Foundation for strengthening this partnership and we count on this effective and targeted support to ensure the humanitarian mission of the Lebanese Red Cross and the continuity of its services during these difficult times and unprecedented crises in our country.”
