Through its Containers of Hope program, the CMA CGM Foundation has established a partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an unaligned, neutral, and independent organization with a mandate to provide assistance to victims of conflict. The ICRC joins a long list of partners to the program that includes: UNICEF, Action Against Hunger, Doctors Without Borders, the French Red Cross, and the Crisis and Support Center of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
CMA CGM’s fleet to be mobilized in support of ICRC programs worldwide
The Containers of Hope program will ship 500 containers (TEU) of humanitarian aid on the ICRC’s behalf. In addition to mobilizing its fleet of vessels, the CMA CGM Group will muster its experts and Foundation staff to support international solidarity supply chains and work alongside the ICRC to coordinate the shipments.
A new partner to help meet substantial needs in crisis-hit regions
The addition of the ICRC to the Containers of Hope program will enable the CMA CGM Foundation to expand its operations to new regions and ship essential products to limited access areas affected by conflicts and violence, primarily in Africa and the Middle East.
