- CMA CGM opened its first office in the UK in Liverpool in 1990 in recognition of the city’s maritime heritage

The CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics, celebrates today 30 years of presence in the United Kingdom and of commitment to the country’s economic and maritime development.
CMA CGM, a leader in shipping and logistics in the UK
CMA CGM first established an office in the UK in Liverpool in 1990, a city renowned for its maritime heritage and the strength of its shipping industry. Thirty years later, the Group has significantly expanded throughout the country, a reflection of its leading contribution to the UK’s trade links and to its prosperity. Its presence now includes:
- 2 offices,
- 258 staff members,
- 18 maritime services calling at 11 ports through 150+ monthly calls: Southampton, London Gateway, Felixstowe, Tilbury, Liverpool, Immingham, Teesport, Southshields, Grangemouth, Greenock, Bristol.
CMA CGM and the UK, a strong relationship spanning 30 years
Over the past 30 years, the CMA CGM Group has made decisive contributions to the UK’s maritime and economic development. Highlights of this shared history include:
- In 2002, MacAndrews, the oldest European sailing company, joined the CMA CGM Group, expanding its service offering on short sea lines and in European multimodal solutions between the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Poland, the Baltic States and Russia,
- The construction of the Chill Hub, a one-hectare facility at the DP World London Gateway. Equipped with chilled and frozen chambers, this advanced facility allows us to offer our customers unique value-added services, such as product quality control and packaging before delivery to their final destination. The Chill Hub opened in 2019 and is operated by CEVA Logistics, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group and a world reference in third-party logistics,
- In 2019, CMA CGM partnered with British filmmaker EON Productions on the 25th official James Bond film, No Time to Die, to be released later this year. Filming of an action sequence took place in May 2019 at the Kingston South Quay Terminal in Jamaica, a CMA CGM-operated container terminal. The vessels CMA CGM FORT SAINT GEORGES and CMA CGM FORT DE FRANCE and more than 1,000 containers were used in the shoot. In addition, a dozen crew, including the Master, took part in the filming.
