2016 Call for Proposals: “Encourage personal development of children with disabilities”

The theme of the fourth call for proposals was “Encourage personal development of children with disabilities”. The CMA CGM Foundation has selected 14 associations out of 59 projects -  8 in France and 6 in Lebanon.

In France

  • Association 13 Accessible to create a Smartphone Application for young people with motor disabilities that will enable them to find their location, visualize the accessibility of the neighborhood they’re in and access sports, culture and leisure activities.
  • Institut Médico-Educatif Mont Riant to purchase alternative communication tools (PECS files and digital tablets) for children and adolescents with mental deficiencies who are not unable to use comprehensible oral language or who are unable to communicate.
  • ADAPEI Var Méditerranée to renovate a respite care center for autistic children aged 6 to 16 and allow the parents of the most severely disabled children to get out of crisis situation and allow themselves family life time.
  • Association Le Pas to buy a 9-seater vehicle that will allow children aged 6-20 with all kinds of mental disabilities and associated problems to access adapted physical and leisure activities offered by the association.  
  • Agir et vivre l’autisme to equip a classroom « as in school » with teaching materials in the ABA Medical and Educational Institute in the Lacordaire School for autistic children aged 0-16.
  • Les Amis du CAMSP d’Aubagne to create an outdoor workspace to develop global motor skills at the Centre d'Action Médical Social Précoce in Aubagne which takes care of children aged 0-6 with physical or psychological development disorders.
  • Association La Bourguette to buy 17 tactile tablets and software adapted to autistic children aged 3-7 at the infant center (Pôle Petite Enfance).
  • Association Phonambule to finance musical interventions in duo: mini-concerts for young children with disabilities in hospital.

In Lebanon

  • Al Younbouh to equip a 30m2 Snoezelen room for children aged 7-14 with intellectual deficiencies.
  • ACSAUVEL to renovate a childcare center in the heart of a specialized school that takes care of children aged 3-5 suffering from Down’s Syndrome and mental deficiencies.  
  • Centre de la Providence Divine to equip a kitchen used for a professional pastries workshop for children and young adults suffering from cerebral motor disabilities, mental deficiencies and Down’s Syndrome.
  • Orphan Welfare Society - OWS to buy 400 musical instruments for 275 children aged 3 to 7, suffering from different disabilities.  
  • Bishmizzine High School to buy 2 interactive whiteboards, software and educational games for children with light or medium mental disabilities and learning difficulties.
  • North Autism Center to provide a Sensory work out room for autistic children aged 5 to 14 in North Lebanon.
