2017 Call for Proposals: “Improve the everyday life of ill children and children victims of trauma”

The theme of the fifth call for proposals was “Improve the everyday life of ill children and children victims of trauma”. The CMA CGM Foundation selected 13 associations in France and Lebanon out of 51 projects representing a total of 140,000 euros in financial aid.

In France

  • Tout le Monde contre le Cancer to support the operation "Toques en Truck", and in particular a stopover at the Aix hospital for culinary activities, in the company of famous chefs for children with cancer and their families.
  • PREMA – Protection, Résilience, Education, Médiation, Art-thérapie to purchase a 9-seater vehicle for school transport, cultural outings, meetings with social workers, placement hearings and meetings between parents and children, for children victims of serious maltreatment who are cared for by the association.
  • SOS Villages d’Enfants to equip a « Maison des Familles » for meetings between parents and children in the SOS Children’s Village of Marseille, which cares for siblings who have been placed long-term on a long-term basis by court judgement.
  • Sourire à la Vie to renovate and equip the Phare des Sourires in Marseille to create a day center, a sports and leisure center, a boarding house and a health and re-adaptation center for children with cancer who are undergoing treatment – remission or palliative
  • Compagnie Après la Pluie to produce 1000 video-books and create, print and produce books based on the stories created by hospitalized children with cancer during the association’s visits.
  • Héroïc Séjours to buy sound and lighting equipment, a video projector, costumes, decors and computer equipment for individual and group sessions where children create and participate in a fantastic story in which they are the heroes.
  • Le Gai Rire to buy office and computer equipment, musical instruments and costumes for clowns, who intervene in the mother-child section, essentially at CHU Nord, a hospital in Marseille.
  • Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque to pay for operations (pre -and post-operation examinations surgery and transportation in an ambulance) at the Timone hospital for two children with serious pathological heart defects from a country where the operation is not covered.

 

In Lebanon

  • CHANCE (CHildren AgaiNst CancEr) to finance treatment for new-born babies, children and young people from Lebanon and since 2011, Syrian and Iraqi refugees, who suffer from cancer (blood diseases, Lymphoma, Leukemia) at the hospital “Hôtel Dieu de France”.
  • Heartbeat to pay for surgery for 10 children (babies and young children from Lebanon, Syria and Iraq) at the hospital “Hôtel-Dieu de Beyrouth” who were born with heart defects.
  • Assameh to participate in the purchase of a CT SCAN for the pediatric service at the Quarantaine Hospital in Beirut, whose diagnosis will prevent the risk of disability among children born prematurely and hospitalized for congenital heart disease.
  • Mission de vie to equip a bedroom for young people who are victims of trauma and in a crisis situation so that they can neutralize their aggressiveness through music, TV, painting and diverse games.
  • Les Enfants de la Méditerranée (L.E.M.) to support a social program that will allow children of Syrian refugees who are not in school to discover circus arts on 8 camps in South Lebanon.
